Alabama Rescue Squads Gather Supplies for Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

Local search and rescue crews are helping determine southeast Helene damage. Alabama Rescue Squads are restocking storm-ravaged communities.

Search and rescue teams hope individuals have extra supplies for those struck by this storm since we were spared. Lower Alabama Search and Rescue in Lillian is gathering supplies.

Trying to fill a big trailer. Items will be collected from 8 am to 6 pm every day this week until October 7th.

“We’ve experienced this on the Gulf Coast. We understand the need for supplies and the suffering of disaster victims. We’re doing this. Ray Hogans of the Alabama Association of Rescue Squads said it was their third time.

Cleaning materials, water, personal hygiene products, and non-perishable food are needed. A week from now, supplies will be sent from one of two state hubs. Donations are accepted in numerous sites.

Mobile National Reserve Corps, Daphne Search and Rescue, North Baldwin Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, and McIntosh Rescue are also taking supplies. Their departure is October 8th or 9th.
