Gas prices in Alabama are following a national trend and are currently lower than they were a month ago. According to AAA, the average price for regular unleaded in Alabama on September 14th is $2.79, which is about 30 cents lower than the average price of $3.10 a month ago. The average price in metro Birmingham is even lower at $2.77. The lowest prices in Alabama can be found in Etowah County at $2.61 and Shelby County at $2.66, based on AAA data. In comparison, the national average currently stands at $3.22 per gallon.

The average gasoline price has dropped by approximately 30 cents in the past month, compared to when it was $3.10.

The average price in metro Birmingham is even lower, at $2.77, according to AAA.

In Alabama, Etowah County offers the lowest gas prices at $2.61, closely followed by Shelby County at $2.66, as reported by AAA.

The average price for a gallon of gas across the country is currently $3.22.
