Hermiston Man Arrested in Connection with Stabbing Attack

Crack Cocaine and Paraphernalia Seized in Drug Bust: Three Individuals Arrested in Southern Tier

Brandon Hobart, 33, of Hermiston, is confronting accusations related to an alleged knife assault at the Oyo Hotel, located at 655 North First Street, early Monday morning. Police Chief Jason Edmiston stated that Hobart, who was “severely intoxicated,” suspected a group of males of engaging in sexual activity with an underage female at the motel.

The inquiry reveals that Hobart, wielding a knife, attempted to breach the door. Edmiston stated that this compelled the occupants of the room to escape through a rear window.

“Hobart subsequently apprehended a 25-year-old transient male in the laundry room and inflicted a severe laceration on his right hand, resulting in significant bleeding,” Edmiston wrote.

The victim was sent to Good Shepherd Medical Center, where he declined treatment and departed against medical counsel. The chief stated that medical personnel conveyed to the cops their fear that the sufferer would lose his hand without treatment. At that time, there was no information regarding the victim’s whereabouts.

Hobart faces two felony charges: second-degree assault and attempted unauthorized use of a firearm. He is additionally confronting misdemeanor counts of first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal mischief related to vandalism.
