Jefferson County drug bust ensues after man's arrest during traffic stop

In Jefferson County, Alabama, law enforcement made an arrest on Tuesday following a traffic stop that uncovered illegal narcotics.

Willie Mullins Jr., aged 45, has been charged with multiple offenses by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. These charges include drug trafficking, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a pistol by certain individuals, second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Cullman man has been found guilty in the double-shooting incident that occurred at a funeral home in 2023.

A 21-year-old individual is facing charges following the recovery of a stolen trailer in Calhoun County.

The Pratt City/Ensley area was the location where members of the narcotics division from the sheriff’s office were conducting a detail.

Citizens in the area had previously lodged complaints with the detectives about drug sales and violent crime.

Detectives from the sheriff’s office made a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Trax at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Avenue V. As a result of the stop, the driver was arrested and a quantity of narcotics and firearms were confiscated.

According to the sheriff’s office, they confiscated several items during the operation. These included $1,525 in cash, 20.39 grams of cocaine, seven grams of marijuana, and two grams of fentanyl. Additionally, they discovered a stolen Glock 9mm, plastic bags, and a digital scale.

Mullins received a bond totaling $176,000.
