Shooting incident reported at Center Point gas station

State Police: Driver Dies in Single-Car Accident on Southern State Parkway

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has reported that an individual was shot at a gas station in Center Point, following what appears to be a confrontation.

The shooting took place around 12:45 a.m. on Thursday at the Bama Gas Station located at 1100 Center Point Parkway. Deputies were called to the scene after receiving a report of the incident.

The victim decided to leave the scene and headed towards the parking lot of InTown Suites, located at 1100 Huffman Road, according to deputies.

The shooting victim was taken to UAB Hospital with visible gunshot wounds, which are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Deputies report that there was another individual who fled the scene of the shooting at the gas station. However, it remains unclear if this person sustained any injuries.
