Montgomery Man Found Guilty in Federal Drug Conspiracy Case

In a recent announcement, Acting United States Attorney Kevin Davidson revealed that Vanshun Traywick, a 45-year-old resident of Montgomery, has been convicted on two counts of conspiring to distribute cocaine.

On October 20, 2020, law enforcement officers in Montgomery pulled over a semi-truck driven by Flanagan. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered a bag containing approximately one kilogram of cocaine, according to court records.

The investigation not only uncovered Golden’s involvement in the procurement of large quantities of cocaine but also revealed that Traywick purchased two ounces of cocaine from Deneco Nettles, another co-conspirator from Montgomery, on October 13, 2020.

Traywick could potentially face a prison sentence ranging from five to 40 years in federal prison. It is worth noting that earlier this year, Golden, Flanagan, and Nettles all admitted their guilt in relation to federal drug conspiracy charges. As a result, Nettles received a prison sentence of 18 months, while Golden and Flanagan await their sentencing later this year.

Traywick’s sentencing date has not been scheduled yet.
