1 Man Dead, 1 Woman Hospitalized After Norton Avenue Shooting on Wednesday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is investigating a fatal overnight shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Norton Avenue.

While en route, the call was updated to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive man on a home’s porch with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was also found with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances leading to the shooting. No arrests have been made, and no further details are available at this time.
