A 19-year-old in Kansas City has been arrested after reportedly pulling out a gun during a road rage incident and stealing hundreds of dollars from the victim.
According to Jackson County, Missouri Circuit Court papers filed on Wednesday, April 16, Marcel Hill, 19, of Kansas City, has been charged with allegedly pulling a gun on another vehicle following a crash.
Law enforcement officers were dispatched at 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday to respond to complaints of a road rage incident, according to a probable cause statement filed by the Kansas City Police Department. When they arrived on the site, they discovered a victim who said Hill had pulled a revolver on him after they crashed.
According to investigators, Hill believed the victim owed him money as a result of the incident and attempted to collect it at gunpoint. He followed the victim to a coworker’s house and stole $200 before pointing the rifle at him again and demanding insurance information.
According to law authorities, Hill was apprehended at the scene while his vehicle was being removed. He acknowledged threatening the victim with a pistol although he was not of legal age.
As a result, Hill faces charges of robbery, armed criminal conduct, and unauthorized use of a firearm. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison. A bond review hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, at 10 a.m., followed by a preliminary hearing on May 14 at 2 p.m.
Hill was still in jail on a $50,000 bond on Sunday, April 20. No other information has been shared.
