23 students arrested from northern Alabama within a 2-week period

In the last couple of weeks, nearly 20 students from North Alabama have been apprehended for making threats of violence.

In the past eight school days, there has been a consistent trend of at least one student from north Alabama being arrested each day. A notable spike in arrests was observed on September 11th, with a total of five students being apprehended on that particular day.

Since September 11, a series of threats has unfolded, originating from a middle school student in Austin. This alarming trend has led to the arrest of 22 individuals across 14 school districts.

The following school districts had one student arrested each: Decatur City Schools, Boaz City Schools, and Muscle Shoals City Schools. Also, Sheffield City Schools, Cullman County Schools, Athens City Schools, Fort Payne City Schools, Scottsboro City Schools, DeKalb County Schools, Albertville City Schools, Huntsville City Schools, and Colbert County Schools.

A student from Cherokee Elementary School was arrested today and will be facing charges of harassment.
