Four suspects in the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old in Panola County, Mississippi, have been identified and charged with second-degree murder.
The Batesville Police Department identified the four suspects as follows:
- El-Tavien Andrews, 16 – Second Degree murder
- Jabari Byrd, 17 – Second Degree murder
- Kaderius Frost, 20 – Second Degree murder
- Zyion Hughes, 15 – Second Degree murder
According to the Batesville Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. on April 13 at the intersection of Everette and Claude streets.
The Panola County Sheriff’s Office said three more suspects have been detained in connection with the incident. Their names have not been disclosed.
A gunman opened fire while the teen was sitting in the passenger seat of a car. Someone shot him in the head.
Terry Gardner revealed to WREG that his cousin, Cazarius Gardner, 13, was the victim of Sunday night’s shooting.
The teenager was taken to a Memphis hospital, where he died.
