Gulf Shores, Alabama – Hurricane Francine is resulting in turbulent waves and posing a significant risk of rip currents at the beaches in Alabama. As a precautionary measure, double red flags have been raised, indicating the closure of Gulf waters. However, despite the inclement weather and rainfall, vacationer Mike Maner is determined to make the most of his time in Gulf Shores.
Maner expressed his belief that a rainy day at the beach is more enjoyable than a sunny day at the office.
Swimming in the water against the rules may lead to a hefty $500 fine or even arrest. Law enforcement officers are actively monitoring the beach to ensure compliance with the regulations.
According to Gulf Shores Beach Safety Chief Joethan Phillips, the police department has not had to issue any tickets at this time. With the rain approaching, the beach is not too crowded, and it seems that everyone is following the rules and regulations.
The risk of rip currents will remain high until Friday, with double red flags expected to be raised again on Thursday.
Phillips stated that they would continue to monitor the situation and might move to a single red alert on Friday, but this decision would be based on the behavior of the storm.
