The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a tragic accident that took place in Stafford, New York. The incident involved a collision between a car and a motorcycle, resulting in a fatality.
Emergency crews swiftly responded to a distress call at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday regarding a motor vehicle crash on State Route 33 in Stafford.
When they arrived, they discovered that a motorcycle had collided head-on with a Ford Edge.
Michael Ciarpelli, a 20-year-old resident of Rochester, was riding his motorcycle westbound when he decided to overtake two vehicles ahead of him. The young man was not only the operator of the motorcycle but also its sole occupant at the time of the incident, according to the police.
According to reports, the driver of the Ford Edge made a left turn from Griswold Road and started heading east on State Route 33.
According to the police, Carpelli collided with the Ford in the eastbound lane and was thrown from the motorcycle while trying to pass both vehicles in front of him.
The crews discovered him on the left shoulder of State Route 33, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is still in progress.
