Large Hail And Damaging Winds Are Possible With Severe Storms On Monday, Weather Service Says

According to the National Weather Service, much of southwestern Pennsylvania faces a minor risk of severe thunderstorms on Monday.

The most severe risk will be around and south of Latrobe, Pittsburgh, and New Philadelphia. The risk has decreased for counties north and east of Allegheny County, according to a weather service bulletin provided Sunday afternoon.

Severe weather is forecast between 4 and 9 p.m. on Monday.

According to the weather service, any significant storm might bring large hail and devastating winds. Tornadoes are also probable, particularly in regions south of Interstate 70, with a larger danger in northern West Virginia and southeast Ohio.

The quantity of cloud cover during the day on Monday will determine how severe the threat is, according to the weather service. On Monday, residents should stay updated and ready for the issuance of watches and warnings.

After a high of 70 degrees on Monday, highs are expected to reach 50 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday before rising to the 60s and 70s during the next two weeks.
