The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office fondly remembers a dedicated and long-serving employee.
Marilyn Crenshaw, also known as Lisa, passed away on Friday after a courageous battle with cancer.
Crenshaw, who worked as an administrative assistant at the sheriff’s office, was known for her deep involvement in almost every aspect of the agency. According to Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham, she was considered the backbone of the organization.
Cunningham expressed how the office atmosphere had become subdued due to the absence of the person who always lifted their spirits. “Her attitude around the office was very quiet because she was that person that kept our spirit up, so we as the total body is at a loss right now,” Cunningham said.
Assistant Chief Deputy Wes Richerson expressed his admiration for her contributions to the organization, stating that she was a blessing. He highlighted her extensive involvement in various initiatives undertaken by the sheriff’s office during her nearly 10-year tenure. Her presence will be greatly missed, not only by the dedicated members of the sheriff’s office but also by the entire community who had the privilege of interacting with her. He described her as a truly remarkable individual with a kind and compassionate spirit.
Two years ago, the sheriff’s office honored her by dedicating a pink unit to raise awareness about cancer.
The viewing for Cunningham will take place from noon until 7 p.m. on Friday at Lewis Robusky Mortuary located at 3402 Doris Circle in Montgomery.
The funeral for her will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Beginning Holiness Church located at 865 Crenshaw Road in Wetumpka. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at the Crenshaw Road Church of Christ in Wetumpka.
