A man from Montgomery has received a 60-year prison sentence for his involvement in a series of crimes that occurred in 2018, including the abduction and sexual assault of a woman.
Purnell’s co-defendants, Lacorey Fuller and Jasper Wright, made the decision to testify against him. As a result, Fuller received a 20-year sentence and Wright received 30 years.
“The actions of these three violent criminals are despicable and abhorrent, and they have no place in our community,” Bailey expressed. “I take pride in the collaboration between my office and the Montgomery Police Department to ensure justice for the innocent victim and to eliminate these monsters from our streets. Sexual assault cases pose significant challenges in prosecution, and they have a lifelong impact on the victims.”
“These three criminals will spend a significant amount of time behind bars, and I sincerely hope that this punishment brings some solace to the victim. I would like to express my gratitude to Judge Griffin for his firm sentences and for helping to reinforce the message that anyone who commits a violent crime in Montgomery County will face justice, be found guilty, and receive imprisonment.”
