According to Alabama lawmakers who spoke with WVTM 13, former state senator Priscilla Dunn passed away on Tuesday morning. At 80 years old, Dunn dedicated over ten years of service to the state as a Democratic state senator from 2009 to 2022. She represented Bessemer and played an active role in various proclamation and commendation bills during her tenure.
Notably, she advocated for the recognition of NASA Day on February 23, 2022, to honor the Marshall Space Flight Center. Additionally, she commended the Cullman High School boys basketball team for their victory in the 2022 Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A Boys Basketball State Championship.
