Recall of Lactaid Milk in 27 States Due to ‘Trace Amounts of Almond’

Hood and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have issued a voluntary recall of specific 96-ounce containers of Lactaid Milk due to the potential presence of an undeclared allergen. The FDA has stated that these products may contain trace amounts of almond, which is not listed on the label. Individuals with almond allergies or severe sensitivity may be at risk of experiencing a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. The discovery of this issue was made during a routine maintenance program, which identified the potential for trace amounts of almond. It is worth noting that no illnesses have been reported thus far, but the recall is being conducted as a precautionary measure.

According to a statement provided to ABC, HP Hood, the manufacturer of Lactaid Milk products, acknowledges the importance of addressing consumer and public health concerns regarding allergens in food products. The brand’s representative emphasized that Hood’s allergen and sanitation management programs adhere to all regulatory and industry standards.
