Early Sunday morning, a man found himself in a precarious situation when he became stranded on the roof of his truck due to rapidly rising flood waters in Lawrence County. However, thanks to a prompt rescue operation, he was safely saved from his predicament.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident took place at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday morning along County Road 150. To aid the Courtland Fire Department, the sheriff’s office promptly deployed its Swift Water Rescue Team. Divers from the team fearlessly entered the swift current and successfully retrieved the individual in distress. Without sustaining any injuries, the individual was safely transported to shore via boat.

According to officials from the sheriff’s office, the operation lasted approximately five hours.

On Saturday night, the team successfully rescued a woman from the rapidly rising flood waters on County Road 167 in Moulton.
