Texans’ Stefon Diggs Gives Straightforward Answer about Playing Against Josh Allen and the Bills

There is allegedly no animosity between Houston Texans standout wide receiver Stefon Diggs and his old team, the Buffalo Bills—only a healthy dose of AFC competition.

On Sunday, Diggs and the Texans will take on the Bills at NRG Stadium, marking his first encounter with Buffalo since his trade in April. Diggs isn’t the first NFL player to face off against a previous team, but he’ll undoubtedly be the focus of attention when the Texans and Bills—both 3-1 so far this season—duel in what promises to be a high-scoring game.

The Houston Texans star discussed his mindset heading into the “revenge” game against the Bills and provided a straightforward assessment of the impending clash.

“Block out the noise,” Diggs stated, according to ESPN.

“A lot of other people are going to feel a way or have a lot to say about X, Y, and Z, and I don’t mind,” Diggs went on: “I’m not mad about it. I just wanted to go 1-0. Clearly, they are a talented squad. They have a lot of players who can fly about on defense. But they’re an excellent squad. So I’m looking forward to that.

In his debut season with the Texans, Diggs has 25 receptions for 233 yards and two scores. During Diggs’ four-year stay with the Bills, the All-Pro wideout collected 37 receiving touchdowns from Josh Allen, which matched the most touchdowns of any quarterback-receiver tandem in the league.

However, just four games into the NFL season, Houston’s talented offensive supporting cast, which includes rookie wideouts Nico Collins and Tank Dell, surrounds Diggs.

“It’s easy to get bad rap,” Diggs explained. “Word travels quickly, but when you arrive in a new area and people get to know you, they can judge you based on their own experiences and interactions with you.” When I arrive at another location, things usually turn around. There are usually smiles and lots of positive vibes. I always approach things cautiously.
