According to a recent study conducted by TurboDebt, Wilcox County has experienced the most significant surge in home ownership in the past four years.
Josh Stomel, Co-founder of TurboDebt, emphasizes the importance of not only celebrating the growth in homeownership rates due to economic recovery and state initiatives in various counties but also acknowledging and addressing the challenges faced by regions experiencing declines.
The top performers in home ownership were:
- Wilcox’s percentage stands at 14%.
- Monroe accounted for 11% of the total.
The five counties at the bottom of the performance ranking were:
- Bullock: Down by 11%
- Perry’s performance decreased by 3%.
- Marengo experiences a decrease of 3%.
- Montgomery experiences a decrease of 2% in the given period.
Stomel emphasized the importance of making homeownership more accessible in light of the high cost of living in urban areas.
