The recall is being initiated because the product may contain trace amounts of almond, which is not declared on the label. This recall is specifically for the 96-ounce containers of Lactaid Milk, a popular milk alternative for individuals with dairy sensitivity and lactose intolerance.
Individuals who have an allergy or sensitivity to almonds may encounter a severe or even life-threatening allergic response. To date, there have been no reported instances of illnesses related to this condition.
The product in question was distributed to retailers and wholesalers between September 5 and September 18 in the following states: Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
A specific batch of refrigerated Lactaid Milk is being recalled. This recall is only applicable to a limited number of 96 oz. plastic containers. The affected containers can be identified by the code 51-4109 P2 and the “Best By Date” listed in the chart below. To locate this information, check the center-top area of the container.
Only products containing the code 51-4109 P2 and the specified “Best By Date” in the chart below are subject to the recall.
