According to court documents obtained by WAFF, a Tennessee man who was accused of transporting minors to Alabama for sexual intercourse has entered a plea of guilty.

Nearly 25 years after his offenses, James Thompson was apprehended on federal charges in June 2024.

Federal court records indicate that Thompson transported two distinct boys from Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, to Scottsboro, Alabama, in order to engage in sexual intercourse with them.

This occurred around the year 2000. A third child was transported to Louisiana for the same purpose.According to the plea agreement Thompson signed, he is expected to serve a minimum of 20 years in prison. Nevertheless, Thompson’s sentence will be determined by a federal magistrate.

The sentencing is scheduled for January of the following year. Thompson is currently being detained until that time.
