Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen is actively encouraging individuals to volunteer as poll workers for the forthcoming general election on November 5th.

“Poll workers play a crucial role in the election administration team,” Allen emphasized. “They dedicate themselves tirelessly from dawn to dusk on Election Day to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our elections.”

“If you’re an eligible Alabama voter looking to participate in the elections process, serving as a poll worker is an excellent opportunity to get involved. I strongly recommend reaching out to my Office or your local probate judge to learn more about how you can contribute.”

Poll workers must be registered voters in their county and are appointed by a board comprised of the county probate judge, sheriff, and circuit clerk. Before each election, they are required to attend training conducted by their county probate judge.

Allen, a former probate judge, acknowledges the crucial role that poll workers play in election administration and empathizes with the challenges associated with recruiting them.
